A file carries two kinds of dates. The 'created/modified date' in your file manager is recorded by the operating system, while the 'creation date' in document properties lives inside the file's metadata.
Changing the file date with standard mode does not touch the document's internal creation date. To change what HWP shows as its creation date, you need Pro mode, which edits the metadata inside the file.
Pro mode uploads the document to edit its metadata, then deletes it immediately — nothing is stored. Up to 4.5MB per file.
Supported formats for Pro mode: HWP, PPTX, DOCX, JPG/JPEG. Other formats can still get their file date changed via File Date (OS) mode.
Editing internal metadata requires modifying the file's contents, so Pro mode uploads the document, processes it, and deletes it immediately — nothing is written to disk. If you'd rather not upload at all, use the local File Date (OS) mode, which only changes the file date.
Pro mode is limited to 4.5MB per file (serverless limit). For larger files, use File Date (OS) mode, which has no size limit but only changes the file's created/modified date.
